église Sant Felipe Neri

The irony of my slight drunkenness, while taking pictures of a church.Maybe the beauty of the pictures were compromised by my state of mind, but the thing I found most interesting are the bullet holes on the walls, which date back to the 1938 Spanish civil war.So many children that sought refuge in the church during the war were subsequently killed by the Franquist soldiers.I managed to get a peek at the interior’s Baroque detailing, just as an old woman was leaving the church.I found Barcelona incredibly fascinating, far beyond what I had imagined the city to be like.I really cannot wait to go back.
